January 27, 2023: Neches, TX 75779 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Neches Tigers (Neches, TX) and the visiting Wells Pirates (Wells, TX), saw Neches's basketball squad hold off Wells by a count of 54-47.
With the victory, Neches upgrades its record to 19-8 on the campaign. The Tigers host Kennard (Kennard, TX) to play the Tigers in a 1A Region IV District 27 challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 1-21. Kennard lost 50-37 in their recent league challenge against Slocum (Elkhart, TX)
Next up, the Pirates play the Centerville Bulldogs (Groveton, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 27 challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Wells will attempt to upgrade on its 9-12 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 6-16 record after their 92-46 league loss to Martinsville (Martinsville, TX).
