Wells Pirates (Wells, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Centerville Bulldogs (Groveton, TX), 62-28 in a league bout.

With the win, Wells upgrades its record to 7-9 on the season. The Pirates travel to Martinsville (Martinsville, TX) to play the Pirates in a 1A Region IV District 27 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 17-4. Martinsville won 78-37 in their recent league bout against Laneville (Laneville, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Kennard Tigers (Kennard, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 27 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Centerville will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 1-15 record after their 72-32 league loss to Neches (Neches, TX).
