New Mexico High School Basketball - Reserve nips Animas

Reserve Mountaineers (Reserve, NM) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Animas Panthers (Animas, NM), 48-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Reserve upgrades its record to 10-5 on the season. The Mountaineers travel to Quemado (Quemado, NM) to play the Eagles in a A District 2 bout on Thursday, February 1. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 12-5. Quemado lost 37-32 in their recent league bout against Cliff (Cliff, NM)

Next up, the Panthers play the Magdalena Steers (Magdalena, NM) in a A District 2 bout, on Thursday, February 1. Animas will attempt to upgrade on its 10-7 season record. The Steers go into the bout with a 14-4 record after their 37-24 league win over Mesilla Valley Christian School (Las Cruces, NM).
