Georgia High School Basketball - Gainesville holds off Apalachee
January 28, 2023: Winder, GA 30680 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Gainesville Red Elephants (Gainesville, GA) and the host Apalachee Wildcats (Winder, GA), saw Gainesville's basketball squad hold off Apalachee by a tally of 53-51.
With the victory, Gainesville improves its record to 12-8 on the campaign. The Red Elephants host North Forsyth (Cumming, GA) to encounter the Raiders in a AAAAAA Region 8 test on Tuesday, January 31. The Raiders go into the test with a record of 12-10. North Forsyth lost 67-53 in their recent league test against Shiloh (Snellville, GA)
The Wildcats now own a 6-16 record. They play next when they travel to Habersham Central for a AAAAAA Region 8 test on Tuesday, January 31. Apalachee will encounter a Raiders squad coming off a 57-50 league win over Gainesville (Gainesville, GA). The Raiders record now stands at 13-7.
