January 28, 2025: Hammond, LA 70401 Ponchatoula Green Wave (Ponchatoula, LA) supporters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the host Hammond Tornadoes (Hammond, LA), 64-26 in a league match.
With the victory, Ponchatoula advances its record to 16-9 on the year. The Green Wave host Mandeville (Mandeville, LA) to face the Skippers in a 5A District 6 match on Wednesday, January 29. The Skippers enter the match with a record of 18-6. Mandeville won 55-43 in their recent non-league match against St. Scholastica (Covington, LA)
The Tornadoes now own a 5-16 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Covington for a 5A District 6 match on Thursday, January 30. Hammond will face a Lions squad coming off a 43-27 non-league win over West Jefferson (Harvey, LA). The Lions record now stands at 7-12.
