In Friday's league test, the Ponchatoula Green Wave (Ponchatoula, LA) basketball squad trounced the host Covington Lions (Covington, LA), by a score of 63-33.

Next, the Green Wave clash with the Southern Lab Kittens (Baton Rouge, LA) in a non-league test, on Saturday, January 18. Ponchatoula will attempt to improve on its 15-9 season record. The Kittens come into the test with a 15-4 record after their 42-28 non-league win over Edna Karr (New Orleans, LA).

The Lions (5-11) will now prepare for their test against Hammond (Hammond, LA). The Tornadoes come into the 5A District 6 test with a 5-15 record. In their last test, Hammond was routed by Albany (Albany, LA), 65-33, in a non-league test.
