The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Spring Valley Grizzlies (Las Vegas, NV) and the host Coronado Cougars (Henderson, NV), observed Spring Valley's basketball team edge Coronado by a score of 47-45.

The Grizzlies (12-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Faith Lutheran (Las Vegas, NV). The Crusaders come into the 5A Southern challenge with a 12-10 record. In their last challenge, Faith Lutheran edged Palo Verde (Las Vegas, NV), 67-41, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cougars encounter the Shadow Ridge Mustangs (Las Vegas, NV) in a 5A Southern challenge, on Friday, January 31. Coronado will attempt to improve on its 10-10 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 11-5 record after their 68-67 league win over Desert Pines (Las Vegas, NV).
