The Elgin/Pope John Wolfpack (Elgin, NE) basketball edged the visiting North Central Knights (Bassett, NE), 49-47 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Wolfpack now possess a 10-1 record. They play next when they host St. Mary's for a non-league bout on Thursday, January 9. Elgin/Pope John will play a Cardinals team coming off a 46-37 non-league win over Norfolk Catholic (Norfolk, NE). The Cardinals record now stands at 7-1.
