Rhode Island High School Basketball - Chariho thwarts Toll Gate
January 30, 2024: Wood River Junction, RI 02894 The Chariho Chargers (Wood River Junction, RI) basketball knocked off the visiting Toll Gate Titans (Warwick, RI), 67-59 in Tuesday's league test.
The Chargers (4-10) will now prepare for their test against Lincoln (Lincoln, RI). The Lions go into the Division 2 test with a 15-0 record. In their last test, Lincoln notched a victory over Pilgrim (Warwick, RI), 86-55, in a league test.
The Titans now own a 2-15 record. They play next when they host South Kingstown for a Division 2 test on Thursday, February 1. Toll Gate will encounter a Rebels squad coming off a 73-52 league win over Middletown (Middletown, RI). The Rebels record now stands at 11-5.

Owen Apice scored 13 of Chariho’s 15 points in the first quarter to take a 15-14 lead.
Third Quarter
Apice made three thre-pointers to help the Chargers build a 53-38 lead after three quarters.
Fourth Quarter
Brayden Healey (28 points and 13 rebounds) and Liam Leahy (15 points and 5 rebounds) had solid nights to keep the Titans close in their league game against Chariho.
