New Mexico High School Basketball - Jemez Valley edges Coronado
January 30, 2024: Gallina, NM 87017 The Jemez Valley Warriors (Jemez Pueblo, NM) basketball nipped the host Coronado Leopards (Gallina, NM), 40-37 in Tuesday's league test.
The Warriors (5-9) will now prepare for their test against Laguna Acoma (New Laguna, NM). The Hawks go into the non-league test with a 2-16 record. In their last test, Laguna Acoma was tipped by Pine Hill (Pine Hill, NM), 74-70, in a non-league test.
The Leopards now own a 5-10 record. They play next when they host Evangel Christian Academy/Oak Grove Classical Academy for a A District 7 test on Tuesday, February 6. Coronado will encounter a Eagle squad coming off a 69-63 non-league win over Maxwell (Maxwell, NM). The Eagle record now stands at 10-9.
