January 30, 2024: Mt. Vernon, IA 52314 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Marion Wolves (Marion, IA) and the host Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA), saw Marion's basketball squad overcome Mt. Vernon by a tally of 49-34.
With the victory, Marion improves its record to 12-4 on the campaign. The Wolves host Independence (Independence, IA) to confront the Mustangs in a WAMAC - West challenge on Friday, February 2. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 6-10. Independence lost 55-42 in their recent league challenge against Center Point-Urbana (Center Point, IA)
Next up, the Mustangs confront the Solon Spartans (Solon, IA) in a WAMAC - East game, on Friday, February 2. Mt. Vernon will attempt to move on its 10-7 season record. The Spartans enter the game with a 16-0 record after their 57-36 league win over West Delaware (Manchester, IA).
