North Carolina High School Basketball - Weldon tops Southeast Halifax

January 30, 2024: Halifax, NC 27839

Weldon Chargers (Weldon, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Southeast Halifax Trojans (Halifax, NC), 67-48 in a league bout.

With the victory, Weldon upgrades its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Chargers host Northampton County (Gaston, NC) to play the Jaguars in a 1A Tar Roanoke bout on Friday, February 2. The Jaguars come into the bout with a record of 12-3. Northampton County won 60-22 in their recent league bout against Rocky Mount Prep (Rocky Mount, NC)

Next up, the Trojans play the Warren County Eagles (Warrenton, NC) in a 1A Tar Roanoke battle, on Friday, February 2. Southeast Halifax will attempt to improve on its 2-14 season record. The Eagles come into the battle with a 4-11 record after their 66-26 league loss to Northwest Halifax (Littleton, NC).
