Armstrong Trojans (Armstrong, IL) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Watseka Warriors (Watseka, IL), 51-50 in a league bout.

With the victory, Armstrong upgrades its record to 8-15 on the campaign. The Trojans host Hoopeston (Hoopeston, IL) to play the Cornjerkers in a Vermilion Valley bout on Friday, February 3. The Cornjerkers come into the bout with a record of 13-13. Hoopeston lost 58-50 in their recent league bout against Iroquois West (Gilman, IL)

Next up, the Warriors play the Salt Fork Storm (Sidell, IL) in a Vermilion Valley bout, on Friday, February 3. Watseka will attempt to upgrade on its 6-17 season record. The Storm come into the bout with a 22-2 record after their 52-30 non-league win over Fisher (Fisher, IL).
