January 31, 2023: Echo, OR 97826 The Nixyaawii Community Eagles (Pendleton, OR) basketball nipped the host Echo Cougars (Echo, OR), 78-72 in Tuesday's league test.
The Eagles (15-1) will now prepare for their test against Elgin (Elgin, OR). The Huskies go into the 1A Old Oregon test with a 1-14 record. In their last test, Elgin got by Griswold (Helix, OR), 40-39, in a league test.
The Cougars now own a 6-9 record. They play next when they travel to Griswold for a 1A Old Oregon test on Friday, February 3. Echo will encounter a Grizzlies squad coming off a 40-39 league loss to Elgin (Elgin, OR). The Grizzlies record now stands at 1-12.
