The Brazos Cougars basketball team (Wallis, TX), was nudged 40-35 in Tuesday's league battle with the host East Bernard Brahmas (East Bernard, TX)

The Brahmas now sport a 17-14 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Van Vleck for a 3A Region III District 24 battle on Tuesday, February 7. East Bernard will battle a Leopards team coming off a 97-47 league loss to Boling (Boling, TX). The Leopards record now stands at 12-17.

The Cougars (6-15) will now prepare for their battle against Hempstead (Hempstead, TX). The Bobcats come into the 3A Region III District 24 battle with a 3-15 record. In their last battle, Hempstead was nudged by Danbury (Danbury, TX), 53-10, in a league battle.
