North Stokes Vikings (Danbury, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC), 36-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, North Stokes upgrades its record to 13-6 on the season. The Vikings host East Wilkes (Ronda, NC) to play the Cardinals in a non-league bout on Friday, February 3. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 14-5.

Next up, the Granite Bears play the Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, February 1. Mount Airy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-13 season record. The Golden Eagles go into the bout with a 11-7 record after their 51-47 league win over Forbush (East Bend, NC).
