In Friday's league test, the Iona Prep Gaels (New Rochelle, NY) basketball squad defeated the visiting Cardinal Hayes Cardinals (Bronx, NY), by a final score of 68-60.

Next, the Gaels clash with the Monsignor Scanlan Crusaders (Bronx, NY) in a Catholic AA - New York test, on Sunday, February 2. Iona Prep will attempt to upgrade on its 12-8 season record. The Crusaders come into the test with a 4-10 record after their 65-60 league loss to St. Raymond Boys (Bronx, NY).
