Maine High School Basketball - Ellsworth knocks off Orono
January 31, 2025: Ellsworth, ME 04605 The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Ellsworth Eagles (Ellsworth, ME) and the visiting Orono Riots (Orono, ME), observed Ellsworth's basketball team overcome Orono by a margin of 48-37.
The Eagles (15-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Bucksport (Bucksport, ME). The Golden Bucks come into the B North challenge with a 2-14 record. In their last challenge, Bucksport dropped by Presque Isle (Presque Isle, ME), 51-44, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Riots battle the Foxcroft Academy Ponies (Dover-Foxcroft, ME) in a B North challenge, on Monday, February 3. Orono will attempt to better on its 15-6 season record. The Ponies come into the challenge with a 8-9 record after their 48-36 league loss to Presque Isle (Presque Isle, ME).
