The Buffalo Island Central Mustangs basketball squad (Monette, AR), was nudged 48-45 in Friday's league battle with the host East Poinsett County Warriors (Lepanto, AR)

With the victory, East Poinsett County advances its record to 17-8 on the year. The Warriors travel to Izard County (Brockwell, AR) to meet the Cougars in a non-league battle on Monday, February 3. The Cougars enter the battle with a record of 18-4. Izard County won 53-41 in their recent league battle against Tuckerman (Tuckerman, AR)

The Mustangs now own a 15-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Marmaduke for a 2A Region 3 battle on Tuesday, February 4.
