Texas High School Basketball - Lopez overwhelms Mercedes

The Lopez Lobos basketball team scored 38 points and limited the host Mercedes Tigers to 16 in the Lobos league triumph on Friday.

The Lobos now have a 21-9 record. They play next when they travel to Donna for a 5A Region IV District 32 game on Tuesday, February 4. Lopez will confront a Redskins team coming off a 50-42 league win over Edcouch-Elsa (Edcouch, TX). The Redskins record now stands at 17-15.

With the loss, Mercedes falls to 13-19 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Pace (Brownsville, TX) to confront the Vikings in a 5A Region IV District 32 game on Tuesday, February 4. The Vikings go into the game with a record of 12-19. Pace lost 45-38 in their recent league game against Rivera (Brownsville, TX)
