North Carolina High School Basketball - Freedom trounces Draughn

January 4, 2023: Valdese, NC 28690

The Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) basketball crushed the host Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC), 93-50 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Patriots (10-3) will now prepare for their test against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Panthers go into the 3A/4A Conference 52 test with a 7-6 record. In their last test, Hibriten was trounced by South Point (Belmont, NC), 65-55, in a non-league test.

The Wildcats now own a 5-7 record. They play next when they host Rosman for a 1A/2A Conference 42 test on Friday, January 6. Draughn will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 81-56 non-league win over Blue Ridge Early College (Cashiers, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 2-11.
