The South Stokes Sauras basketball team scored 2 points and held the host Elkin Buckin' Elks to 1 in the Sauras non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Sauras now sport a 7-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to East Surry for a non-league contest on Friday, January 6. South Stokes will battle a Cardinals team coming off a 62-41 non-league win over Reagan (Pfafftown, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 4-0.

The Buckin' Elks (5-5) will now prepare for their contest against Starmount (Boonville, NC). The Rams enter the non-league contest with a 6-4 record. In their last contest, Starmount was nudged by Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC), 49-45, in a non-league contest.
