Ashland Hornets (Ashland, ME) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Van Buren Crusaders (Van Buren, ME), 39-34 in a league bout.

With the win, Ashland upgrades its record to 2-4 on the season. The Hornets host East Grand (Dansforth, ME) to clash with the Vikings in a D North bout on Monday, January 8. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 0-4. East Grand lost 62-18 in their recent league bout against Wisdom (St. Agatha, ME)

Next up, the Crusaders clash with the Katahdin Cougars (Sherman Station, ME) in a D North bout, on Saturday, January 6. Van Buren will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 5-1 record after their 92-19 league win over Ashland (Ashland, ME).
