North Carolina High School Basketball - Carson thwarts North Rowan
January 5, 2024: Spencer, NC 28159 The Carson Cougars (China Grove, NC) basketball knocked off the host North Rowan Cavaliers (Spencer, NC), 79-64 in Friday's non-league test.
The Cougars (6-5) will now prepare for their test against Northwest Cabarrus (Concord, NC). The Trojans go into the 3A South Piedmont test with a 8-5 record. In their last test, Northwest Cabarrus notched a victory over East Rowan (Salisbury, NC), 72-34, in a league test.
The Cavaliers now own a 6-5 record. They play next when they host West Davidson for a 1A/2A Central Carolina test on Tuesday, January 9. North Rowan will encounter a Dragons squad coming off a 68-42 league loss to Lexington (Lexington, NC). The Dragons record now stands at 5-9.
