Ohio High School Basketball - Newark crushes Central Crossing
January 5, 2024: Newark, OH 43055 Newark Wildcats (Newark, OH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Central Crossing Comets (Grove City, OH), 57-29 in a league bout.
With the win, Newark upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Wildcats host Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, OH) to clash with the Yellowjackets in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 6. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a record of 6-4. Mt. Vernon won 56-49 in their recent league bout against Ashland (Ashland, OH)
Next up, the Comets clash with the Reynoldsburg Raiders (Reynoldsburg, OH) in a Ohio Capital - Buckeye bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Central Crossing will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 6-3 record after their 85-52 league win over Lancaster (Lancaster, OH).
