January 5, 2024: Wayland, IA 52654 The Pekin Panthers basketball team (Packwood, IA), was routed 53-31 in Friday's non-league battle with the host WACO Warriors (Wayland, IA)
The Warriors now sport a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to New London for a SEI - South battle on Monday, January 8. WACO will battle a Tigers team coming off a 87-42 non-league loss to Mt. Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, IA). The Tigers record now stands at 2-7.
The Panthers (5-5) will now prepare for their battle against Sigourney (Sigourney, IA). The Savages come into the non-league battle with a 5-5 record. In their last battle, Sigourney trounced B-G-M (Brooklyn, IA), 52-28, in a league battle.
