Iowa High School Basketball - Pekin nips Lone Tree
December 15, 2023: Lone Tree, IA 52755 Pekin Panthers (Packwood, IA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Lone Tree Lions (Lone Tree, IA), 64-63 in a league bout.
With the victory, Pekin upgrades its record to 4-4 on the campaign. The Panthers host Louisa-Muscatine (Letts, IA) to play the Falcons in a SEI - North bout on Tuesday, December 19. The Falcons come into the bout with a record of 4-5. Louisa-Muscatine lost 54-51 in their recent non-league bout against Danville (Danville, IA)
Next up, the Lions play the Tri-County Trojans (Thornburg, IA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 18. Lone Tree will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Trojans come into the bout with a 0-7 record after their 78-16 league loss to North Mahaska (New Sharon, IA).
