In Friday's league match, the host East Burke Cavaliers basketball team scored a decisive 76-28 triumph over the Bandys Trojans.

In their next game, the Cavaliers meet the Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC) in a 2A Catawba Valley match, on Tuesday, January 9. East Burke will attempt to better on its 11-0 season record. The Red Devils enter the match with a 3-9 record after their 55-37 league win over Lincolnton (Lincolnton, NC).
