East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), 74-31 in a league bout.

With the win, East Burke upgrades its record to 12-0 on the season. The Cavaliers travel to Bunker Hill (Claremont, NC) to play the Bears in a 2A Catawba Valley bout on Friday, January 12. The Bears go into the bout with a record of 3-10. Bunker Hill lost 56-29 in their recent league bout against West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC)

Next up, the Red Devils play the West Lincoln Rebels (Lincolnton, NC) in a 2A Catawba Valley bout, on Friday, January 12. Newton-Conover will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Rebels go into the bout with a 4-9 record after their 56-29 league win over Bunker Hill (Claremont, NC).
