New Braunfels Unicorns (New Braunfels, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host San Marcos Rattlers (San Marcos, TX), 46-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, New Braunfels upgrades its record to 14-12 on the campaign. The Unicorns host Judson (Converse, TX) to play the Rockets in a 6A Region IV District 27 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Rockets come into the bout with a record of 13-11. Judson lost 54-49 in their recent league bout against Steele (Cibolo, TX)

Next up, the Rattlers play the East Central Hornets (San Antonio, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 27 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. San Marcos will attempt to upgrade on its 12-12 season record. The Hornets come into the bout with a 19-8 record after their 53-51 league loss to Clemens (Schertz, TX).
