The Cheyenne Desert Shields (North Las Vegas, NV) basketball edged the visiting Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles (Las Vegas, NV), 62-56 in Monday's league bout.

The Desert Shields now possess a 3-12 record. They play next when they travel to Sierra Vista for a 4A Desert bout on Thursday, January 9. Cheyenne will play a Mountain Lions team coming off a 86-74 league win over Clark (Las Vegas, NV). The Mountain Lions record now stands at 10-3.

With the loss, Somerset Sky Pointe falls to 7-9 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Amplus Academy (Las Vegas, NV) to play the Archers in a 4A Desert bout on Thursday, January 9. The Archers go into the bout with a record of 6-4. Amplus Academy won 67-23 in their recent non-league bout against Cristo Rey St. Viator (North Las Vegas, NV)
