In Friday's league outing, the East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC) basketball squad edged the visiting Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC), by a margin of 56-50.

The Eagles (10-6) will now prepare for their outing against Providence (Charlotte, NC). The Panthers go into the 4A Conference 59 outing with a 2-7 record.

The Patriots now own a 7-7 record. They play next when they travel to Rocky River for a 4A Conference 59 outing on Tuesday, January 11. Independence will clash with a Ravens squad coming off a 78-73 league win over Providence (Charlotte, NC). The Ravens record now stands at 7-4.
