The Independence Patriots tipped the visiting East Mecklenburg Eagles basketball team by a final score of 56-49 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Patriots face the Rocky River Ravens (Mint Hill, NC) in a 4A Conference 59 game, on Tuesday, February 8. Independence will attempt to move on its 11-10 season record. The Ravens enter the game with a 12-6 record after their 77-53 league win over Providence (Charlotte, NC).

With the defeat, East Mecklenburg moves to 13-9 on the year. The Eagles travel to Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC) to face the Cougars in a 4A Conference 59 game on Tuesday, February 8.
