Southern Columbia Area Tigers (Catawissa, PA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Hughesville Spartans (Hughesville, PA), 59-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Southern Columbia Area upgrades its record to 4-2 on the year. The Tigers travel to Central Columbia (Bloomsburg, PA) to face the Bluejays in a non-league game on Monday, January 9. The Bluejays enter the game with a record of 5-5. Central Columbia won 78-64 in their recent league game against Montoursville (Montoursville, PA)

With the defeat, Hughesville moves to 4-4 on the year. The Spartans host Neumann Regional Academy (Williamsport, PA) to face the Golden Knights in a non-league game on Monday, January 9.
