The Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES basketball team (Mount Carmel, PA), was nudged 52-48 in Saturday's league battle with the visiting Hughesville Spartans (Hughesville, PA)

The Spartans now sport a 9-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lewisburg for a non-league battle on Tuesday, February 7. Hughesville will battle a Green Dragons team coming off a 75-57 league win over Montoursville (Montoursville, PA). The Green Dragons record now stands at 13-6.

The RED TORNADOES (7-13) will now prepare for their battle against Central Columbia (Bloomsburg, PA). The Bluejays come into the non-league battle with a 9-11 record. In their last battle, Central Columbia edged Warrior Run (Turbotville, PA), 68-40, in a non-league battle.
