The Southern Wake Academy Lions nipped the host Ascend Leadership Aviators basketball squad by a final score of 33-29 in Tuesday's league outing.

Next, the Lions clash with the Chatham Charter Knights (Siler City, NC) in a 1A Central Tar Heel outing, on Tuesday, January 14. Southern Wake Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Knights enter the outing with a 6-12 record after their 43-31 league win over Clover Garden School (Burlington, NC).

The Aviators (2-8) will now prepare for their outing against Neuse Charter (Smithfield, NC). The Cougars enter the non-league outing with a 13-4 record. In their last outing, Neuse Charter got by Wayne Country Day (Goldsboro, NC), 66-12, in a non-league outing.
