Minnesota High School Basketball - St. Francis holds off Big Lake
January 9, 2024: St. Francis, MN 55070 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the St. Francis Fighting Saints (St. Francis, MN) and the visiting Big Lake Hornets (Big Lake, MN), saw St. Francis's basketball squad hold off Big Lake by a tally of 70-64.
With the victory, St. Francis improves its record to 5-6 on the campaign. The Fighting Saints host Mound-Westonka (Mound, MN) to confront the White Hawks in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 13. The White Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 4-6. Mound-Westonka lost 92-88 in their recent non-league challenge against Southwest Christian (Chaska, MN)
Next up, the Hornets confront the Monticello Magic (Monticello, MN) in a AAA Section 5 challenge, on Friday, January 12. Big Lake will attempt to improve on its 6-5 season record. The Magic come into the challenge with a 3-8 record after their 84-73 non-league loss to Hutchinson (Hutchinson, MN).
