Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest Javelinas (Pharr, TX), 90-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Vela upgrades its record to 21-5 on the season. The Sabercats host McAllen Memorial (McAllen, TX) to play the Mustangs in a 5A Region IV District 31 bout on Friday, January 12. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 18-4. McAllen Memorial won 80-25 in their recent league bout against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (Pharr, TX)

Next up, the Javelinas play the Valley View Tigers (Pharr, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 31 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest will attempt to upgrade on its 2-18 season record.
