The Newman Greenies (New Orleans, LA) basketball crushed the visiting West Jefferson Buccaneers (Harvey, LA), 53-20 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Greenies now possess a 6-11 record. They play next when they travel to Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy for a non-league bout on Friday, January 10. Newman will play a Swamp Owls team coming off a 39-34 non-league loss to South Terrebonne (Bourg, LA). The Swamp Owls record now stands at 4-15.

With the loss, West Jefferson falls to 6-11 on the campaign. The Buccaneers host Thomas Jefferson (Gretna, LA) to play the in a non-league bout on Monday, January 13.
