In Thursday's league contest, the host Union City Bears basketball team scored a close 49-48 win over the North East Grape Pickers.

The Bears (4-6) will now prepare for their contest against Seneca (Erie, PA). The Bobcats come into the District 10 Region 3 contest with a 6-5 record. In their last contest, Seneca was tipped by Northwestern (Albion, PA), 39-29, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Grape Pickers battle the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers (Erie, PA) in a District 10 Region 3 contest, on Monday, January 13. North East will attempt to better on its 3-7 season record.
