The Union City Bears basketball team scored 54 points and limited the host Girard Yellowjackets to 29 in the Bears league triumph on Thursday.

The Bears now have a 5-8 record. They play next when they travel to Mercyhurst Prep for a District 10 Region 3 game on Saturday, January 18. Union City will confront a Lakers team coming off a 54-27 league loss to Northwestern (Albion, PA). The Lakers record now stands at 2-4.

With the loss, Girard falls to 2-9 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to Titusville (Titusville, PA) to confront the Rockets in a non-league game on Monday, January 20. The Rockets go into the game with a record of 1-7.
