January 9, 2025: Oxford, MS 38655 Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the visiting Pontotoc Warriors (Pontotoc, MS), 2-0 in a league test.
With the triumph, Lafayette moves its record to 9-8 on the campaign. The Commodores host West Point (West Point, MS) to clash with the Green Wave in a 5A Region 1 test on Tuesday, January 14. The Green Wave come into the test with a record of 0-11.
The Warriors now sport a 11-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to New Hope for a 5A Region 1 test on Saturday, January 11. Pontotoc will clash with a Trojans team coming off a 1-0 league win over Corinth (Corinth, MS). The Trojans record now stands at 7-7.
