October 1, 2024: Bainbridge, GA 39819 Cairo Syrupmakers (Cairo, GA) backers left the game pleased Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nudge the host Bainbridge Bearcats (Bainbridge, GA), 12-9 in a league game.
With the triumph, Cairo upgrades its record to 13-6 on the year. The Syrupmakers host Peach County (Fort Valley, GA) to play the Trojans in a 3A Region 1 game on Thursday, October 3. The Trojans enter the game with a record of 19-5. Peach County lost 6-5 in their recent non-league game against Academy for Classical Education (Macon, GA)
The Bearcats now own a 7-10 record. They play next when they host Westover for a 3A Region 1 game on Wednesday, October 2. Bainbridge will play a Patriots squad coming off a 14-4 league loss to Dougherty (Albany, GA). The Patriots record now stands at 2-15.
