Illinois High School Soccer - Charleston toppled by Mt. Zion
October 15, 2024: Charleston, IL 61920 Mt. Zion Braves (Mt. Zion, IL) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the host Charleston Trojans (Charleston, IL), 6-1 in a league test.
With the triumph, Mt. Zion moves its record to 11-7 on the campaign. The Braves travel to Jacksonville (Jacksonville, IL) to meet the Crimsons in a non-league test on Wednesday, October 16. The Crimsons come into the test with a record of 13-7. Jacksonville won 4-0 in their recent non-league test against Bloomington (Bloomington, IL)
The Trojans now sport a 5-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mattoon for a Apollo test on Thursday, October 17. Charleston will battle a Greenwave team coming off a 7-2 non-league loss to Salem (Salem, IL). The Greenwave record now stands at 10-11.
