In Friday's non-league game, the Covington Lions (Covington, LA) football team were victorious over the visiting Slidell Tigers (Slidell, LA), by a score of 28-7.

In their next game, the Lions face the Hammond Tornadoes (Hammond, LA) in a 5A District 6 game, on Friday, October 24. Covington will attempt to improve on its 5-2 season record. The Tornadoes come into the outing with a 5-2 record after their 20-17 league win over Mandeville (Mandeville, LA).
