Mandeville Skippers (Mandeville, LA) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team gain a win over the host Covington Lions (Covington, LA), 26-9 in a league battle.

With the win, Mandeville advances its record to 4-2 on the season. The Skippers travel to Hammond (Hammond, LA) to confront the Tornadoes in a 5A District 6 match on Friday, October 17. The Tornadoes come into the match with a record of 4-2. Hammond lost 41-12 in their recent league match against St. Paul's (Covington, LA)

Coming up next, the Lions confront the Slidell Tigers (Slidell, LA) in a non-league match, on Friday, October 17. Covington will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Tigers come into the match with a 4-2 record after their 17-7 league win over Fontainebleau (Mandeville, LA).
