Screven County Gamecocks (Sylvania, GA) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the visiting Portal Panthers (Portal, GA), 42-7 in a league battle.

With the win, Screven County advances its record to 9-0 on the season. The Gamecocks travel to Emanuel County Institute (Twin City, GA) to confront the Bulldogs in a A D2 Region 3 match on Friday, October 31. The Bulldogs come into the match with a record of 7-2. Emanuel County Institute won 48-8 in their recent league match against Claxton (Claxton, GA)

Coming up next, the Panthers confront the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers (Darien, GA) in a A D2 Region 3 match, on Friday, October 31. Portal will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Buccaneers come into the match with a 5-4 record after their 35-20 league win over Savannah (Savannah, GA).
