North Carolina High School Football - South Stanly held off by Union Academy

October 27, 2023: Monroe, NC 28110

In Friday's league game, the Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) football team tipped the visiting South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls (Norwood, NC), by a final score of 14-12.

The Cardinals (2-8) will now prepare for their game against Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC). The Granite Bears come into the non-league game with a 10-0 record. In their last game, Mount Airy got by Alleghany (Sparta, NC), 53-0, in a league game.

The Rowdy Rebel Bulls now hold a 4-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bessemer City for a non-league game on Friday, November 3. South Stanly will battle a Yellow Jackets team coming off a 60-0 league win over Cherryville (Cherryville, NC). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 5-5.
