Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team nip the visiting Palmview Lobos (La Joya, TX), 16-12 in a league match.

The Sabercats (7-2) will now prepare for their match against Rio Grande City (Rio Grande City, TX). The Rattlers come into the 5A-1 Region IV District 16 match with a 1-8 record. In their last match, Rio Grande City tipped Juarez-Lincoln (La Joya, TX), 34-21, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Lobos confront the McAllen Memorial Mustangs (McAllen, TX) in a 5A-1 Region IV District 16 match, on Friday, November 7. Palmview will attempt to upgrade on its 6-3 season record. The Mustangs come into the match with a 7-2 record after their 33-31 league win over Rowe (McAllen, TX).
