New Mexico High School Volleyball - Gallup routed by Los Alamos
November 10, 2022: Los Alamos, NM 87544 The Los Alamos Hilltoppers volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the visiting Gallup Bengals to 0 in the Hilltoppers non-league victory on Thursday.
The Hilltoppers now possess a 19-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Artesia for a non-league game on Thursday, November 10. Los Alamos will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 3-0 league win over Portales (Portales, NM). The Bulldogs record now stands at 16-7.
The Bengals (14-11) will now prepare for their game against Pojoaque Valley (Pojoaque, NM). The Elks/Elkettes enter the non-league game with a 17-3 record. In their last game, Pojoaque Valley was dropped by Los Alamos (Los Alamos, NM), 3-2, in a league game.
Match Summary
The Toppers started the 2022 State Championship is solid form with a quality win over Gallup. The back row showed up strong with all DS averaging above 2.0 in receive and Shyanne Garcia leading the way with 2.5. Michelle Macias led the hitters with 10 kills on 20 attempts. Solenne Thelliez had a strong showing with 8 blocks and 9 kills on 12 attempts. Gianna Benelli added to the scoring with 2 aces and 17 points off serve.
